Solutions 2 Big Brother problems

Watching pages restricted by country IPs

The latest German Big Brother can only be seen by people in Germany, but you can fool them by using a German IP so they think your in Germany. This o/c works with other sites then the Germany BB :)

Using FF and FoxyProxy makes it a lot easier watching live feed and videos. It still depends on finding a working (and hopefully a quick) proxy, but then it just runs automatically :) Find a proxy on this page for example.

Once the pages have loaded, feed & videos doesn't depend on the proxy, they run at normal speed.

Edit: Another option is using Goggle Chrome, it works the same way as FF.

The new version 4 has extensions, and installing Proxy Switchy works fine.

Hi John

Could you elaborate a bit on this issue, please? I added Foxy Proxy to Firefox. Found some anonymous proxy servers, selected a plus-on in Germany and connected to several websites in Germany with streaming/video content. So speed doesn't seem to be an issue. No problem at all, except the regular videos on the BB site. Connecting the site no problem but running the videos on the regular site. They keep buffering. Using the video add-on for Firefox makes no difference. Though perhaps a security issue but then I would have had this issue with all the other sites too?
I read that you using FP. Do you have any suggestions..?

Since you can access the site, the proxy works. I don't know but my guess would be that your ISP doesn't have a good connection 2 the BB site. Here the vid clips plays without any buffering, not so much as a single buffering + the live feed also plays without buffering.

Thanks John. Did some speedtests. Without and with FP and the Proxyplus server. The connection went down to 50% of the normal level but was still on: down 25 Mbps and up 2.5 Mbps. Sufficient for streams and videos. I'm going to contact the ISP if they block or encrypt that kind of sites?? For the time being I am out of options... :?

Hi John. Speedcheck (speedtest.de) through the proxy server showed excellent results. That’s not the problem. Neither is ISP. They don’t filter anything. It seems that the stream server is the bottleneck (filtering or forced sharing bandwidth) To many people using the same proxy on the same stream server? Just some assumption??

I'm no expert or anything close, but since the proxy is very slow and the videos still plays at normal speed (with me), the vids isn't depending on the proxy but on you normal speed.

As far as I can see it: The proxy finds the stuff on the page, text, images & vids, that takes place very slow. Once the stuff is found it loads/plays at you normal speed. Why it works here and not with you, well I can't explain it...

Since my FF/FoxyProxy is in Danish I'm not sure I'll get it 100% right...

Open FoxyProxy, click add new proxy.

In general give it a proxy name like UK.

In proxy details/host or IP, enter the proxy you've found, I used this one 77.44.115.26:8000. Use goggle 2 find another one if that wont work.

In URL patterns click add new pattern. Enter a pattern name like iPlayer. Enter *bbc.co.uk* under URL pattern. Click OK.

I tried an EastEnders episode and it works, it's slow loading the page but when the vid starts playing it's OK.
